Supporting ideas
Each body paragraph (also called supporting paragraph) has a simple structure:
- Topic sentence - Supporting sentences
The supporting sentences may include a combination of
- an explanation or reasons
- examples
- from knowledge or experience
- an effect or consequence
- specific aspects or details
- comparison and contrast - e.g. a development in time (past vs. present)
